HAMEL LOCATION

All Spark locations follow our comprehensive, six-level system. The first three levels—Introductory, Rookie & Novice Riding—are geared toward taking students who have minimal horse experience and teaching them the basic skills of riding. Most of our students opt to start at the Introductory level, even if they have taken a couple of lessons elsewhere.

Our Beginner Level classes consist of a 45 minutes in the saddle and 40 minutes of horsemanship education.

Once riders have mastered the skills outlined in our Introductory, Rookie, and Novice levels, we welcome them to move on to the more experienced levels: Intro to Specialized Riding, Dressage & Jumping Basics, and Competitive Dressage & Jumping. At these levels, riders are expected to independently catch, groom, tack, and mount their horses prior to their 60-minute riding lesson, as horsemanship is no longer a part of these lessons. Please see our FAQ page for more information about testing into our experienced levels as a new Spark Equestrian student!

(1 of 3) I am so grateful to have found Spark Equestrian. The instructors are phenomenal and continuously exceed my expectations. Their approach is always safety first. The horses they use for lessons and camps are carefully selected to ensure the kids are safe and that they have an incredible experience. My girls immediately fell in love with all of the horses they came in contact with and riding quickly became a focal point in their lives. They...

(2 of 3)...were given the opportunity to learn the art and skill of dressage and jumping, but more importantly, they learned what it really takes to care for a horse. Through this approach, they learned compassion, responsibility, accountability, showmanship and perseverance. They have never worked so hard, but there has never been a complaint. My daughters developed a profound respect for Julie and Melissa as they learned how much work goes into…

(3 of 3) running a clean, safe farm. All of the riders at Serenity, young and not-so-young, treat each other with respect and kindness and are always encouraging one another and cheering each other on. As I watch my girls develop their craft, I feel so much gratitude. I couldn’t be happier with Spark Equestrian at Serenity Farm and would encourage anyone with a child that has expressed any interest in horses to give it a try. It could be a life changer.

After searching for the perfect stable for our six-year old daughter to continue her love of riding, Spark Equestrian—Stillwater immediately felt like home! 2.5 years later, Raiyne's love of horses and riding skills have only grown under the amazing leadership of Spark Instructors! They have offered challenging and new experiences coupled with non-stop fun—a perfect combination.
